Steps of a Southwestern Company Summer



We have compiled the various steps of a summer with The Southwestern Company. This list represents the main steps of The Southwestern Company Summer Internship Program and is in the approximate order they would happen. It is general, but provides you with an idea of timeline and what to expect.


  1. Attend information session
  2. 1st & 2nd day interview sessions
  3. Congratulations! You’ve been selected.
  4. Parent Support Letter/Letter of Endorsement = receive training materials
  5. Meetings on campus
  6. Parent Coffee & Production seminar
  7. Leave for Nashville/Edinburgh
  8. Arrive in Nashville
  9. Train at hotlel/Landers Plaza (Southwestern Company HQ)
  10.  Attend Sales School
  11.  Attend organizational training
  12.  Leave for summer community
  13.  Move into summer host family home
  14.  1st day – on the job training
  15.  Make first sale – yippee!
  16.  Attend Sunday meetings
  17.  Attend Sunday activities
  18.  At end of summer – receive merchandise shipment
  19.  Make deliveries to customers you sold
  20.  Leave for Nashville/Edinburgh for Checkout – reconcile your Southwestern Company account
  21.  Drive home
  22.  Attend Fall Awards Banquet
